Add Dimensions

Organize your nodes with dimensions

What Are Dimensions?

Dimensions are broad themes for your graph. They are closer to flexible tags than rigid folders.

RA-H may suggest dimensions automatically, but you can create your own too. The goal is not to perfectly organize everything. Start with a few high-signal themes that match how you actually think and work.

Good dimensions are usually:

  • broad enough to hold many nodes
  • specific enough to mean something real
  • based on actual themes in your work, not admin categories

Try It

  1. Open the node you just created
  2. Add a dimension (e.g., "test" or "getting-started")
  3. Add one or two more only if they are genuinely useful
  4. Use the dimension later to filter or browse related nodes

Dimensions should emerge from use. If you are unsure, add fewer.

What Not to Do

  • don't create dozens of tiny categories up front
  • don't treat dimensions like nested folders
  • don't make meta labels like personal, important, or misc unless they are truly meaningful in your graph
